Green Building Requirements
On August 4, 2008, Mayor Newsom signed a groundbreaking ordinance that imposed green building requirements on newly constructed residential and commercial buildings, and renovations to existing buildings. The ordinance specifically requires newly constructed commercial buildings over 5,000 sq ft, all new residential buildings, and renovations to areas over 25,000 sq ft in existing buildings that are undergoing major structural upgrades and mechanical, electrical or plumbing upgrades to be subject to an unprecedented level of green building requirements. For more specific details, please click here for the Green Building Administrative Bulletin, AB-093.
The following documents, excerpted from Admin Bulletin 093, are provided for your convenience in documenting compliance with the requirements of Chapter 13C of the San Francisco Building Code.
